Police detain two for Antelope Street Extension

By BBN Staff: Four people are lucky to be alive after a shooting in Belize City last night.

They are Mervin Martin, Melanie Martin, a 16-year-old female, and a one-year-old child.

They were all outside their residence on Antelope Street Extension at around 8 p.m. when a lone gunman approached and opened fire.

Mervin Martin has since been treated and released from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital

Melanie Martin and the baby are listed in a stable condition, however, the 16-year-old minor remains in a critical condition.

Police confirmed that two suspects are in custody and the weapon believed to have been used in the crime has been recovered.

Police are unable to say who was the target in this shooting.
